Ways to support St Saviour’s church financially

St Saviour's depends on donations from individuals in order to pay for the running costs of the church, maintain the buildings and grounds, and support the church's work in the community. The various ways in which you can donate are described below.

Regular or one-off?

Regular donations help us plan for the future because, once they are established, we know how much money is coming in.

A regular Standing Order from your bank account also removes the need for you to remember and make further donations over time. However, you may prefer just to make a one-off donation, and that is of course welcome too.

How to give

A Standing Order from your bank account is our preferred option for a regular donation. And a Bank Transfer is preferred for a one-off donation. However, you can also donate by cheque or through our digital SumUp account.

Please contact our Treasurer, Mark Nicholson for bank details.  Mark can be reached by email at marknich57@gmail.com

Cheques should be made out to St Saviour’s Parochial Church Council.

Gift Aid - increasing the value of your gift at no extra cost to you

If you pay income tax, we can reclaim the tax on the money that you give to the church, increasing the value of your gift by 25%, with no extra cost to you. This is easy to do - LINK TO FORM, select that option, sign the declaration and then return the form.

SumUp - electronic donations

Alternatively, donations to the life of the church can be given electronically via SumUp through the following website. This offers one-off or regular options and allows you to Gift Aid your donation with a digital declaration.

Legacies

Over the years legacies have been an important source of funds to maintain the church and ensure it is there to support future generations. Donors in the past have left specific sums or set a percentage of their estate for the church to decide how it should be spent. Others have been more specific on the kind of things they would like their donation to be spent on, such as the garden or organ restoration. Gifts made to the church are exempt from inheritance tax - they are deducted from the value of your estate before inheritance tax is calculated. Legacies to the church should be made to St Saviour’s Parochial Church Council.
